Giving back to others is an important part of the way we do business

A strong commitment to our communities is one of Colonial Life’s core values. In fact, we place particular emphasis on contributing to positive change in the places where we live and work.

Giving back to others

Helping our communities become better is a natural extension of the commitment we make each and every day to our customers — to help employers manage their businesses and employees protect their families and livelihoods when the unexpected happens. Life is anything but expected.

We are committed to helping people when they need us most — a philosophy that guides both our business practices and our community involvement. Our primary goals are to:

  • Provide equitable opportunities for Black, Hispanic, Latino and economically disadvantaged students to thrive.
  • Support those disproportionally at risk to adverse health outcomes by funding innovative and action-oriented health and wellbeing programs.

We have a proud heritage of giving, both through donations to charitable organizations, as well as supporting organizations through our employees’ volunteer efforts.

In 2019, Colonial Life and its employees contributed more than $2.4 million to the community. That includes more than $450,000 in employee giving with more than 11,000 hours of volunteer time in support of charitable organizations. Many of our employees and leaders also serve on local boards and committees.

Giving Programs
