Terms and Conditions for Colonial Life Text Notifications

How to opt-in

To opt in to receive text messages from Colonial Life and its subsidiaries, affiliates, and service providers (collectively “Colonial Life”), turn on the texting function in your Colonial Life portal account by clicking “Yes” under Text Notifications or contact our call center at 866-679-3054.

How to opt-out

To opt out of receiving text messages from Colonial Life, simply reply STOP or turn off texting in your portal account. After opting out, you may receive one final message confirming your choice. You may re-enroll by following the standard opt in process above.

Conditions of program enrollment

By enrolling in Colonial Life Text Notifications, you give your consent to Colonial Life to use an automatic dialing system to deliver text messages to the provided mobile number. This consent is not a condition of purchase or service. Once enrolled, you may receive confirmation of your enrollment via message.

You represent that you are the owner of the mobile device for which you have authorized enrollment in this program and that you are the sole person responsible for messages sent from and received by the device. You agree to promptly notify Colonial Life if your mobile phone number changes.

After enrolling in Text Notifications, Colonial Life may send you messages related to your policies, claims, leave, and other products or services you receive from Colonial Life.

Message frequency may vary. You agree that Colonial Life will not be liable for any delays or failures in your receipt of any text messages, as delivery can be unpredictable based on transmission from your network operator and processing by your mobile device. Text message services are provided on an as is, as available basis.

Right to terminate

Colonial Life reserves the right to terminate Text Notifications at any time without notice. For complete and accurate information, access your Colonial Life portal account or contact your designated Colonial Life representative.

Charges

Message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply and you are liable for those charges.

Confidential and sensitive information

You acknowledge that text messages are not end-to-end encrypted and could be intercepted by third parties, additionally you acknowledge that fraudsters sometimes attempt to impersonate companies like Colonial Life. As such, you agree that you will not text Colonial Life any confidential or sensitive information. For your safety and that of our systems, Colonial Life will not ask for confidential or sensitive information via text. If you receive a suspicious text claiming to be from Colonial Life, please contact your Colonial Life representative. By continuing to use Colonial Life Text Notifications, you agree Colonial Life will not be liable for any unauthorized access or interception of text messages with Colonial Life.

Unsolicited messages
